Any kind of dessert is a must to finish off a festive meal in India.How about trying a different dessert from the regular kheers that we cook. Today lets give a twist to our kheer, by using carrots, it would taste the same as gajar ka halwa, but would appear totally different.Lets give it a try ...
Serves : 4
Main Ingredients : Carrot
Time : 30 minutes
Difficulty : Easy
Ingredients :
4-5 Carrots ( washed and grated )
1 litre full cream milk
1/2 cup Sugar ( according to taste )
1/2 tbsp Safforn
1/2 Cardamom powder
3-4 sliced Almonds
2-3 Cashews
Method :
First wash and grate the carrots into small pieces and boil it in a pressure cooker.
Till then take a pan and put the milk for boiling in low flame.
Now put the grated boiled carrot and saffron in the milk and cook in medium heat.
Then add the sugar to it and keep stiring till it gives a boil.
Now add Cardomom powder and stir it well again and keep boiling it until its cooked.
Take the serving bowl and transfer the cooked kheer into it,and garnish it with chopped Cashewnuts and Almonds and refrigerate it, and serve it cool ...
*Note :
You can use orange carrots if red carrots are not available...
